Metallographic Deagglomerated Alumina
Deagglomerated Alumina Spec Sheet |
Deagglomerated alumina is available in 0.05 and 0.30 micron alpha cystal particles. Although these crystal sizes are quite small this calcined alumina product has a tendency to agglomerate during firing (i.e. individual crystals attract and strongly bond to each other). Ths agglomeration leads to an effectively larger particle size. In order to deagglomerate these particles, the powder is either jet milled or crushed, thus breaking the particles apart. The deagglomeration process produces a low density "fluffy" powder.
FEATURES:
-Improved polishing abrasive
-High surface area
-Smaller particle size distribution
